•  Across the United States for the year 2001, 33% of all drivers involved in fatal alcohol-related crashes were between the ages of 21 and 24.

•  In 2001, more than 1,450 deaths occurred in auto accidents involving alcohol-impaired or intoxicated drivers who had at least one previous DWI conviction - approximately 8.4% of all alcohol-related traffic fatalities for the year.
